Rare Quran Manuscripts Displayed at Islamabad Mosque

Rare and unique manuscripts of the Holy Quran donated by Zahid Butt to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have been displayed at Faisal Mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan, for general public.

The Center of Mosque StudiesCDA's Member Administration Muhammad Yasir Pirzada, who visited the Faisal Mosque Monday, directed the mosque management to brief the visitors about the details and history of the manuscripts, according to a press release.

Yasir Pirzada said many of the manuscripts were centuries old. A manuscript sized 1.5 inch showed that how much Muslims adore the Holy Quran, he added.

He said the handwritten copies of the Holy Quran depicted the outstanding calligraphic skills of Muslims.

He thanked Zahid Butt for donating precious manuscripts to the CDA, which would be witnessed not only by the people of the twin cities but also from other parts of the country. He said millions of people would take benefit from the rare copies of Quran-e-Majeed.

"A considerable number of people attend Mehfil-e-Shabina in last three days of the month of Ramazan and a large number perform Eitikaf at the mosque," he added.

Yasir Pirzada directed the CDA's formations concerned to take special measures for the sanctity, protection and security of the copies of Holy Quran.
