Jam’e Mosque of Sorkheh

This building is located in south west of Semnan City and 15km far from the city. The primary building of the mosque belongs to the first Hijri century and then was repaired for many times. The present building includes two vast shabestans which are 2m lower than the surface of the street. The western shabestan is remained from the first Hijri century and consists six strong square columns which hold the arches of the mentioned shabestan. The mentioned shabestan have two separate gates in eastern and western sides and some windows in sides. the new shabestan is built in 1294 Hijri according to the entrance gate pattern. The court yard of the mosque is vast and some semi arches are observable in its various sides.
