Maqbareh Mosque of Tabriz

This square-shaped mosque which the length of its per side is 25 meters includes nine columns which handle the elevated domes. In 1193 Hijri-Qamari incident, the roof of the mosque was collapsed which in this event Haj Mirza Mahdi Tabatabaee was one of captured people under debris. But he could save his life.

After release from this incident, he devoted the rest of his life to public service and charitable works. He constructed baths, schools and the other required building in public welfare way. After his death in 1241 Hijri-Shamsi, people buried his body in this mosque to respect him and they nominated this mosque, Maqbareh. It means shrine.
